IHNFA is on strike so there isn't any news on our dossier. Our new documents are in Honduras; one has to be translated so hopefully that is being done. Emily from our yahoo group compiled a list of families who are waiting to bring their children home & emailed it last night. I was excited to look through it this morning. Now I know who to pray for.

Almost made me cry! Grateful for prayers...praying for the many children in Honduras who need a Christ-Centered Home! So wonderful to have this list...I have my by my bedside...God bless you and your family!

Thanksgiving 2012

Day 30: My annual shopping trip with Dera.
Day 29:Diet coke from Sonic. How do they make that fabulous ice?
Day 28: The moon--quite a show tonight.
Day 27: Hearing T beg for more stories-- I looove bed time stories Mama!
Day 26: Reading--newspapers, books, magazines, road signs, menus- if it's in print, I drink it with my eyes.
Day 25: Real mail. I love it.
Day 24: Mr. R at a center where I work. He is close to the end of his life and still finds joy in sharing chocolate with me when I check on him.
Day 23: Good conversation. It seems harder to come by these days- technology does have some drawbacks.
Day 22: My family- every last one of the weird, loving, kind, redeemed bunch.
Day 21: Good health- it is a gift, I know.
Day 20: HOPE.
Day 19: A call from Dad just to check in.
Day 18: Sunday afternoon naps!
Day 17: Windows open- in November.
Day 16: Days off.
Day 15:Good night rituals & good morning prayers.
Day 14: Time alone...it does a mind good.
Day 13: Falling asleep with Nolan in his top bunk. More than that, being asked!
Day 12: Hot spiced cider on a chilly day. I love the laziness of cold weather.
Day 11: Our church & life group. Blessing after blessing.
Day 10: Crafting with Mom. And eating her supper.
Day 9: David.
Day 8: Coffee, cilantro dip and Hershey bars.
Day 7: Brennan's baptism into Christ tonight.
Day 6: The election is over. I hate the results. But I'm so glad it's over. Bring it.
Day 5: Lunch with my Dad.
Day 4: I can run 2 miles! It takes me 25 minutes, but hey! I can do it.
Day 3: A good kick in the teeth...in the spiritual sense, of course.
Day 2: Good friends! We had dinner with the Shadels tonight. There is something about the friends you walk beside while raising your kids.
Day 1: Change. The Holy Spirit has been messing with me- what I want, what I think I need, what I think about. And I'm glad. I want change.

Thanksgiving

Day 30: texting.
Day 29: having the chance to read scripture to a man who has a heart for it.
Day 28: working with some really great people.
Day 27: a really good weekend eating mom's dinner, watching David nap in the floor, painting Maddie's nails, pushing Cole on the swing, watching Nolan's basketball game and stomping Ryan in Jeopardy!
Day 26: my mom's example of loving people right where they are and her gift of not needing to ask what needs to be done- but instead doing what she sees needs to be done.
Day 25: my brothers- they make me laugh more than anyone.
Day 24: a family who appreciates tradition but is easy going enough to roll with the flow.
Day 23: Kelly Minter's bible study- "No Other Gods." Her guidance through scripture blesses my day.
Day 22: my boys' grandparents. T's school hosted a Thanksgiving lunch and all of his grandparents were able to join him.
Day 21: living in a small town. I like that traffic is only heavy in front of Wal-Mart and when a new fast-food restaurant opens.
Day 20: Sunday afternoon naps.
Day 19: shopping with my mom. She's one of the few patient enough to put up with me.
Day 18: I have been blessed by really great in-laws (even the blonde ones!). I'm so glad to be a part of a big extended family.
Day 17: being home alone! Just a few hours is all I want & need to be recharged.
Day 16: FaithWeaver Friends- I am blessed to share my faith with them and am encouraged each week as they share theirs with me.
Day 15: Jay, Callie, Ian, Henry, Madelyn, Edie & Coleman- prettiest nieces & nephews in the world.
Day 14: my boys' faith. T was sick tonight and he said "Mama, pray to God that it will go away." So we did.
Day 13: our life group- their friendships mean a lot to our family & I love living life with them.
Day 12: the days my dad feels good.
Day 11: good books- I have to have one at all times.
Day 10: fall weather--sunshine, cool air, crunchy leaves on the ground.
Day 9: being able to stay home with my kids as much as I have been able to. I'm very thankful- even on days it makes me a little crazy. Worth it.
Day 8: not "old" friends- just friends from way back! I love to remember quirky things we shared & still laugh about them.
Day 7: triple chocolate coffee cake.
Day 6: my church family. I'm thankful for their influence in my life as well as the lives of my boys. I'm so appreciative of their desire to love Jesus and find freedom in him.
Day 5: playing with my boys- I don't do it often enough and I'm thankful I took time for it today.
Day 4: my house- I love it here, not necessarity because of the physical structure (although it's perfect for us) but because of those who call it home. What a priviledge to live in such comfort, and to know this is the place my boys will remember when they think of home.
Day 3: Mom & Dad- I do know how blessed I am to be their daughter.
Day 2: My boys- who knew motherhood would bring me such joy, fulfillment and work! Being Nolan and T's mama is the biggest joy of my life.
Day 1: David- the least judgmental, most kind-hearted, hardest working man I know.

August 25: visited Honduran consulate in Atlanta & mailed dossier to Honduras
August 29: dossier received by attorney in Honduras
Week of October 3rd: dossier presented to IHNFA
November 3: received 2nd letter from ATL consulate
November 7: apostilled employment letter & sent, along with consulate letter, to agency to send to lawyer
February 13, 2012: registered with government & added to wait list #45
